HTC will be finally be rolling out Android 2.2 (Froyo) updates this weekend. Well, that is for owners of the HTC Desire in Europe.
As reported by Engadget, the weekend update will also include add-ons to the HTC Sense interface, such as 720p video capture, an improved multi-language keyboard, and the manufacturer’s signature App Share widget.
Only the HTC Desire will be getting the Froyo upgrade at first, and there’s a big catch: you have to have an unlocked device. “Operator-specific” variants will be available in the coming weeks, so if you are locked in with a carrier, you’re going to have to wait awhile. Bummer. Users will be notified with an over-the-air update and are recommended to download the package via Wi-Fi.

Even though the smartphone isn’t even out yet and rumors about early August release dates are still being tossed around, a case for the Motorola Droid 2 has already emerged!
The cases are already being spotted at Best Buy Mobile locations. However, neither the case nor the highly-awaited mobile device are actually on shelves just yet.
Given that we’re already seeing accessories, the Droid 2 (set to drop with Verizon Wireless) can’t be far behind as well. And we’ll probably be seeing that special Star Wars-edition soon too.
